This is no joke, but a real job in Japan. They don’t like to waste anything and are famous for accommodating people to the smallest spaces possible. So why not do this with the trains too?

People dressed up in uniforms and wearing white gloves are responsible for pushing travelers into the trains until it’s full enough that not even a needle could fit in.
