Woah, this is something I won’t be trying. It may look like a flimsy beer can crumpling but this is a solid storage tank collapsed by the power of physics.
Improper venting of a storage tank can cause the vapor space pressure to go below the level of atmospheric pressure, which creates a vacuum condition that can make a tank implode.
Hot gas or air in the sealed container is left to cool down and the air pressure difference inside is so great that the structure is compromised.
Luckily with all the observers with their hard hats and umbrellas out in the second half of the clip this appears to be a demonstration rather than a total fail.
You would have thought they would have learnt by now but here’s a tanker going through the same thing.
